I have ordered one - a heavy duty one for single axle with electric engagement (it cost a fortune so a few more £££s for the ultimate convenience is almost unimportant). It is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, and i am gagging for it to be fitted to the van. £1200+ but guaranteed for 5 years so costs £240 a year or £4.60 a week. 15 breaks a year (alot of which are weekend 1 or 2 day breaks) means it will cost us £16 per trip. I would happily pay somebody more than this to pull it up the slightly sloping storage to hitch it up, and to position it on site perfectly level without the hassle of reversing onto pitch or causing undue wear to car clutch etc. Plus i will be able to hitch up single handedly - the van can be driven to the car instead of vice versa. I recon 1 or 2 mishaps pushing the van would cost more than the mover - plus i can move the van on my own and no more rows with the wife! Well worth the money. I will try to report back once it is fitted.
Powrtouch's now account for 70% of British mover sales, they are an excellent unit & with the cross activation & 5 year no quibble guarantee they cannot be beated.

Said i would report back so here i am Mover is really good - alot of cash but really convenient and easy to use. No more worries of damaging car by reversing into caravan - no more worries of getting onto tricky pitches & total independence when moving caravan! If you are undecided on buying this type of mover do not let the price put you off - they are worth their cost. Just be aware the extra weight added to your van will eat into your vans load carrying capacity. But for me no more sore backs and arms etc plus easier caravan moving and no more shouting from the missus rofl!! well worth it
got my Heavy duty powertouch fitted last week to my compass rallye, 490L, and to be honest i was a bit worried whether it would cope with what i had in store for it!!
a 70Metre journey up a 1:5 incline, on the first time i was worried the battery would die, but no it just kept chugging up the hill - it took about 20mins mins mind you!
but what i found out later speeded things up - my wireless alarm in my shed was causing interferenace to it when using the remote, so every couple of seconds it stopped and needed restarting, but now i know using the supplied cable, it works a treat. I would definatly recommend one of these and the installatio by one of the powertouch technicians was firstclass.
We have a powrtouch mover fitted to our van and we could not be without it because we wouldn't get the van off the drive, its too steep and too much gravel!!! anyway, we used to push the old van out and it used to take an hour plus three of us so when we bought the new van in 2005 it had to have a mover fitted from new, Yes they are dear but they are worth it! With regard to reversing the caravan I've used the mover so much I cant reverse the van onto a pitch anymore yet I reverse a HGV daily! oops
------------- My cars got three airbags two as standard and the wife!!!
