Hi,

We got a 15inch Beko combined Lcd/Dvd from "micro direct.co.uk".It is very good at £105.74.

http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(17715)15-BEKO-15LM250DS-Silver-LCD-TV-Built-in.aspx

We use this in our caravan and haven't had any problem with it.

Have bought from this company many times online and they have always been superb to deal with.

The tv is excellent for the money(and we didn't want to spend loads just to leave it in our van!!)In fact I'm just about to order another one for our kitchen.

Hope this helps

Sarah : )

We've just bought one of the Asda ones for £129. Doesn't have Freeview built in but we have the little Asda freeview box and it works great with that. We're off to Scotland next week so we'll give it a good try out.

We just bought a 15" Kenwood tv/dvd from comet for £160, as previous posts we have a dish and take our sky box from the kids multiroom(means i get skysports)

I have managed to get a picture at most sites, i just keep a compass in the car so i know what direction to point the dish at.

Try www.boatshare.co.uk  - I have recently bought one from them but not used it in the caravan. The price was very good. I think they are B grade stock with very minor blemishes. Mine looks fine.

I cant see any reason why it could not be used on 12v with the correct lead , it runs from a 12 transformer as do most of the lcd's I've seen, perhaps the assistant you spoke to was unsure therefore erring on the side of caution!.

Perhaps they were just concerned that the 12v supply has to be smoothes at that level. It was just a query as it was tool late for me having bought mine in the summer.

12v LCD tv`s can be damaged by over voltage, you can buy a 12 volt stabilizer :

currys also have at 149.99 - however as previous person said,to get all 3, quite expensive.

I often go camping just me and my daughter, and we are going over Oct/Nov and we already have a seperate DVD player and TV. worth its weight in gold!!for the early mornings and whilst I am preparing tea!!

We also bought the £129 tv/dvd combo from Asda.  The analogue tuner is very poor but the scart input and DVD player work fine so OK if you can plug in a Freeview or sattelite box.

As for 12V input, if the appliance isn't designed for the variable voltage of a leisure battery (10 - 14 Volts) then you can do seroius damage, hence invalidate your warranty.  You need a 12V - 12V convertor, costs about £40, Amperor is one make.

Edit: can't seem to do links.

Missed the link posted earlier by scuba as well.
