Simple really. For sky or sky freeview.

Buy a sat dish (£30), get a freeview box,(£30) point the sat dish  to 152 degree`s and set the elevation on the back to 28 degrees. Piece of cake. 28 degrees elevation works from central Scotland to the Loire valley.

Forget the satellite finders you can buy for a few quid they  are useless.

thanks for that,not used the dish yet but your advice will help a lot.been reading a lot on digital and dishes.its another language to me.getting there.have sky box will travel.
