Our car port is only 8'6" wide, there's just enough space to get a std van on with a squeeze down the side to walk through. We'd like to get bicycles through too.  The van would be used as a playroom / extra bedroom / youths crash pad / music room / winter store etc. May even use it for the intended purpose.   ie. camping......

Elddis Wisp here.  6'-6" wide I think. 

I also searched high and low for a narrow and short (as in not too tall ) van so that I could get it through an 8' square opening and a 23 point turn in to my back garden!
