Hi Jon ,SORTED I went and bought a mains to caravan adapter this morning,Whilst there the repair guy said it is unlikely to be the van ,So today I hitched up and brought the van round to the house ,plugged it in through an extension cable and hey presto we had power in the van, The warden lent me his cableNO POWER I tried all four plugs NO POWER I tow the van to another bollard NO POWER I have now taken the van back to its storage, lost time from our break, spent £50 on fuel, I only have a week off and can not ring the Caravan Club till Monday to see if they will help me out, Im just glad I have sorted it out,I dont know if I should be mad with the C C or or just laugh it off WHAT WOULD YOU DO

Hi All I went to Buxton in the end for 4 days un hitched and plugged in with no problems we have had a nice sunny few days so all is well that ends well.
( Legs down) I have been vanning for over twenty years with no probs I bought a new cable in November and also an 85 ah battery and a service and all was well , I borrowed a cable from the warden as a double check, but when he said it must be the van he made me think it was, In my eyes we like to use the site link up as it is all in with the price, and not to run around changing batteries, BUT as I said we are back now and all is well
It was probably the borrowed cable. I guess this is what comes of borrowing equipment. Why did you leave? I'm sure I would have hung around and used gas / battery power. You can hardly be mad at someone for lending you a cable, even if it was faulty. He could have told you where to go and if you complain about it, he probably will tell you where to go if you want to borrow a cable again. An apology would be nice though. When all is said and done, you chose to go home because you had no electric, no one forced you. Many of us manage just fine with no EHU. While I would have been a bit Pee'd off at it not working, I would have gone out next day and bought a mains tester so I could prove where the fault was and sort it out next day.
