Both times were on the south coast. I believe the signal gets weaker as you travel north and you need a bigger dish as you get in to Scotland.

I'm going to Scotland in 6 weeks time (can't wait!) so shall be interested to see if the sat works. Mind you, I'm hoping I won't be spending much time watching telly.

 Hi I live in NE Scotland and have had the maplins sat box for two years now it was

 a bit of a swine to set up the first time but with practise it takes around five mins

 if you can connect the receiver box up at home to your home dish then set the

 start up channel to BBC1 london and the satellite to Astra 2 east NOT all sats

this will ensure you only get a picture on astra 2 not any of the others,then press info

on the remote and then try to set your dish ideally you are looking for at least 60%

signal strength and 60% signal quality more if you can get it then sit back and enjoy with a beer. ps a signal strength and quality of over 70% is perfectly possible all over

 the North of Scotland the only thing to remeber is the further north you go the elevation of the LNB arm becomes less (downward) and the skew on the LNB should be around 15 degrees clockwise looking at the dish from the front good luck and

happy viewing.

Sorry to hear it Bert - I do understand though. I thought I had a duff LNB at first.. then suddenly you suss it out.
