We have just come back from the THS site in York and on saturday they were only allowing vans on that were towed by 4x4s and Motorhomes were a NO NO.
Daughter lives across the road from site and she says they have had lots more rain since we left on saturday afternoon. Ground was very sodden and muddy.
i would phone your site if you are away this weekend i beleve quite a few around us are closed due to standing water. We are trying to stay open here but several of our pitches are in a bad way getting pumps down tomorrow lets just pray for no more rain
------------- Anything i say on here are my own personal views and nothing to do with any campsite or company......
We are off to anglesey on friday......phoned to check and everything is ok....it's a rally and the field slops slightly and drains well.....just had a look on BBC weather and it looks ok for the weekend....has sunshine for every day we are there......hope so.......no rain here in Blackpool today and only a few little showers yesterday.....so if you are heading this way it should be ok...
Northern Centres Caravan club rally at Sutton Park 8 miles north of york has been cancelled . A real shame had been looking forward to it after a disappointing summer holiday weather wise . I'm getting fed up with the weather not much of a summer at all .
Any more last minute cancellations?? ours now been cancelled in York due to the amount of rain last night and unfortuantely still forecast more for today, which is when we was due to go.
We had our site cancelled on us last night (Lanefoot Farm near Keswick) spent an hour ring round, found a CL site 5 miles north of Keswick. I just could'nt stay at home this wekend, had this booked for a while and was really looking forward to it, lets hope this site is OK.
Just returned from a few days at Naburn Lock York. The river was in flood and there was a flood alert at Naburn. We were at the top of the site and on Sunday morning the van opposite us ended up in a small pond. They had to move. It was very wet.At the lower end of the site many pitches were in pools of water although the river had not overflowed. If you are booked in there I suggest you ring the site first if the rain continues.
