I thought they said Son on the weather report, well it is the weekend!

Dry enough and warm enough here, might even go and do some work on the van, a few wee jobs I thought about when we were away. Removing the sink in the loo was one, give us a bit more space and as we tend to use the sink more it does seem to be a bit of a waste of space. Couple of wee wiring jobs still to complete and I would like to redo the alarm wiring and hide it better! Then again I could continue answering the tons of mail and add more to the website. Decisions decisions, now wher did I put me malt!

You;re bringing back lovely memories of my first van... a Thompson Glendale, must admit I had better times in the old girl than in all my subsequent "modern " ones.

Ain't that the truth Paul, We have a 1981 Glennevis now and it is in better condition than a lot of modern vans with only a few years on them, if any.

There's a Glendale for sale on my site just now if you want to go back to perfection! (-;

This little beauty now has a new owner who is going to enjoy towing it behind his 1963 humber Sceptre, can't wait to see pictures of the outfit hooked up! Thanks to Pat for bringing it to our attention.

Still a couple of others under 900kg in weight for sale/free through the site looking for new owners!

Might be easier just to get another tourer or perhaps one of the largets motorhomes, a fifth-wheeler should do the trick! lol

Hi Gordon, good on you for keeping the oldie, they are so much better than the plastic and chipboard with all the mod cons that are todays vans. Never needed a shower room in a caravan and having seen some of the damage that they can do I am glad that we only have a WC, most sites have showers or baths these days so it is something I feel is more of an annoyance than a luxury, all that extra carrying and pulling of fresh and waste water containers!

If you need any advice on repairs etc then the Fixed it Club members are always on hand to help where they can, just ask and one of us will answer!

A very warm welcome to the ukcampsite forums!

Brilliant Eddie and love the towcar. Is it a Hillman Minx? Can we see some photos of the van before and after restoration please?

Regards

Hi Eddie, in the outside picture their looks like what may be a Thomson plate under thr front door, if it is it will have the serial number on it which should be similair to 11mg222 No1's year and no2's number on production line with the MG standing for Miniglen, although they may alternatively be M2.

Can't do much about the snow, falling hard and fast here again, but will try and help out with info where possible. (-;
