I reckon it is worse when you damage someone else's stuff, mind a few years ago mum had just got a brand new corolla and numptie here scraped the bumper when it was 2 days old, amazingly she didnt go ape, just told me to fix it and pay for it.

Thats no good he'd definately smell a rat if I was THAT nice to him!!!!!!!!
so wife does it to me all the time and I knows somat is wrong but no point in having a tiff is there after you spoiled him
there is away to put it right but it will cost and you need power tools, when someone had keyed my car we bought a little touch up paint thingy comes in a tube like eye lash thingy with a brush, we dabbed it in the scratches let it dry and when dried it was proud of the rest of the paint, got a buffing power tool and some g3 or 4 and buffed away job done good as knew just had to wipe clean and add polish for shine.
Honesty is always the best policy. Tell him and if he is cross remind him of something (hopefully) he has done in the past and how he knows accidents can happen.to the best of people.
I am speaking to you today from my hospital bed...........
Only joking, I told him! He blew a gasket put the phone down on me, then phoned me back and appologised. I took a picture on my phone and sent it to him. He said I shouldn't have worried. PHEW!!!!
Don't hold your breath tho cos I'm off again at the end of October on my own again!!!

sorry to highjack this thread but i did the same ...i rubbed the paint off with a chair in the awning that was leaning against the caravan on a windy night really.. i have primed the marks and rubbed it down now i need the colour match paint for the caravan ..but to match it correctly is a problem ...anyone know the exact colour for a 2001 bailey pageant moselle ..it's a cream probably magnolia ..but i dunno ??
Use your thumb nail and gently take it over the scratch. If you feel the scratch with your nail then i would recommend bringing a pro in to fix it, (unless you are confident).
If you dont feel the scratch then it should polish or compound out. Visit an caravan shop and you will get a compounding cream, follow the instructions and you should be ok. But be GENTLE.
Clanjones - I think you should try and get a loan of some colour charts from your local car paint shop or if you can take the van to them to match the colour
