Just booked this week ..... P & O Dover-Calais return 2nd week in June for 17 days .. £142 ... whole rig 42 feet long .... good price I thought ... I'd expected P & O to be the most expensive of the 3 but it was the cheapest. ( P & O, LD and Seafrance)
A Couple of years ago they ran a Spanish ferry service and that was cheap but the tickets could not be changed. Then due to lack of demand they pulled the service at a weeks’ notice and left a great number of caravans and motor homes with no option but book late and expensive on P and O or drive.
This service I think is to Boulogne and not Calais which has a history of failing to attract.
Anyone thinking of booking a ferry may be interested in the Norfolk Line offer which I saw at the NEC on Tuesday. Car + 4 people + caravan less than 12m in length, low season £29 high season £39 High season = 3rd - 19th April and 17th July - 6th Sept. A friend of mine has booked at £78 return. The offer closes on Sunday 22nd Feb. Book at the show, Tel. 0844 8475 07 or www.norfolkline.com quoting TEF04 It says on the leaflet, "Unsure of travel dates? Don,t worry ammend FREE of charge"
I've just tried it, on our dates in May - and it came up with a price of £58.00 return for car, caravan, and two people and for our August dates £78.00. Without the promotional code it was £133.00 in May - so a huge saving. Get in quick though, and persist, because the Norfolk Line website is very slow and often crashes.
