alan126.....shetland wool blankets, track suit bottoms, hats!!! Goodness, if I was that cold, I think I'd come home. If we have EHU, we have a little fan heater which we can leave on overnight if it's cold, or how about a small electric blanket?

When we’re going up a hill of fortune, may we never meet a friend coming down
We bought good sleeping bags when we had our trailer tent and they just progressed with us into our caravan! I often thought I'd like a duvet but still quite like the cosy feeling of a sleeping bag.

When we were under canvas many years ago we always had sleeping bags. kept them when we progressed to a Caravan. Many years later upon returning to the caravan scene we tried Duvet. Neither of us liked them so reverted back to Sleeping bags. However, If I find I am too warm during the night I unzip the side and then it is half and half,. Bag/Duvet. Problem solved.
------------- Don't know where I'm going but will be happy when I get there.
Tried Duvets & sleeping bags & (good quality) sleeping bag wins for us. No worrying about a bottom sheet, easier to store & generally easier & quicker imo.

I carry that kit incase the leccy trips, usually run the fan heater through the nite if really cold. Mum is 74 and TBH she is a hot house plant mainly due to her athritis she does feel the cold, I am usually too warm but the van is heated for her
We use sleeping bags simply because we already had them from our tent camping days but also it means hubby cant nick all the covers which he does with a duvet!!
I like the look of those new Duvalays from Raskelf. There a kind of a cross between a duvet and a sleeping bag with a memory foam matress incorporated. I bet they're really comfy, but at over a Ł100 they're out of my price range.
we have 2x52oz sleeping bags zipped together to make a king size double a fan heater or if its really cold a 12volt eleccy blanket plus our jack russell you could fry eggs on his belly

Large good quality (single) sleeping bags for us. We roll them up when we get up & put them at the front end of van on the seats with a pllow laid on top so we can relax on them in the daytime. This way we don't have to struggle to get them out of the seat underbox & they are kept nicely aired. We remove the back cushions off the seats when we are sleeping to make full use of the width space.
Making the double bed up, using sheets & quilts is a lot of hard work but we did it that way for the first part of our 25yrs of caravaning.
Perhaps its a sign of old age- but we believe in doing everything the easy way whilst caravaning - plus our poodle cant get in with us as well.

So do we.
They are also great for overnight stops because we then have one each and just use the single beds. We lie on the quilt and fold it over us like a single sleeping bag.
Well i think that sums it up for me,double quilt for me and Hubby and sleeping bags and a fleece blanket (they HAVE to have Peppa pig,hsm and Thomas on their bed at home lol!)for the kids as they are on the bunkbeds,im guessing single quilts will be far to big for the single beds in caravans anyway?
