I like the bit of light but we once bought a caravan where they had put black electrical tape over the switch, that worked.

The small tray from a small box of matches is a perfect cover,I can hear you all clapping already,LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find a small piece of bluetack does the job very well.
Roll it very thin and you can reduce the glare.
