We are going to Scotland in June, destinations Mull, Benderloch near Oban and Killin. OH doesn't like driving too far so we are stopping for 1 night in Cheshire, 2 near Carlisle, 1 at Luss before we get there, 2 nights at Moffat,  2 near Preston and 1 in Staffordshire on the way back. For us it is all part of the fun, seeing different places.

We are off to Scotland next Friday, for three weeks!

Our first site we have booked is Grummore CC site, and it's 615 miles door to door. We haven't got any problems with the travelling, so we will be staying over night at Englethwaite Hall - it's just over half way!

We've stopped, three or four times, at Lettershaws Farm near Abington (J13 on M74) on the way from (or back to) Oldham to the far north west of Scotland.  It's a C&CC certificated site, so strictly you should be a member.  We are, but I don't ever remember being asked for proof.

Lettershaws is a nice large, flat, usually dry field with lots of EHU points and a small, quite usable,  toilet/shower block, CDP point, water tap and waste bins.  It's cheap - £7.50 IIRC, for the van with 3 adults and EHU - and its here: http://www.lettershaws.com/

We think it's a great stopping off point.
