We recently bought a new tv for the van. Having seen the low price of Tesco / Argos tv's we went for a Tecos's Technica 19". A week later it went back to Tesco's for a full refund. Very slow response time, poor digital tuner, and faulty pixels were the main problems Oh yes, and the sound was rubbish!
Went and bought a Samsung 19" 720P HD Freeview TV and its brilliant. Samsung make fantastic LCD TV's, we have a 40" Samsung in our lounge.
This is the one we bought:

But we only paid £180 from a local TV / HiFi specialist.

Hi Cariad
The TV you purchased from Tesco, you say it has a 12v lead, does this mean it has a separate lead or has it just got a normal 3 pin uk plug and you could convert the lead to to run off 12v.
We are looking for a new TV but mostly stay at sites with no hook up, we currently have a 12v tv but it one of the old fat square types.

Hi Janet
It has an external transformer with a standard 3 pin plug which converts electric to 12v that plugs into tv. The standard 12v caravan lead will plug straight into the tv as we have done and are watching it now.
Hope this helps.
