We have owned a Puck now for several years and are about to turn it in for a Triton. They have straightened the sides, made the doorway higher and should be better for taller folk. Jandi in Scotland is the best place to go - worth the trip. They are so helpful.

You were right the first time, the Eriba Forum is the best caravan forum, I am slightly biased being a member.Help is given freely even to non paying members, if you have an Eriba whatever its age wether you are a joiner or not come and have a look and a chat

Unfortunately Eriba prices are now so daft it ain't really worth buying one. UK ebay is full of classified ad's for Eribas that have obviously been bought in from abroad. Prices ain't that cheap in France & Holland & yet ebay sellers still think they can try to flog them in the UK for another grand or more...I hope they all catch a stinkin' cold.

Hello everyone.

Well, we took the plunge and are now awaiting a new triton 60th edition eriba.
Obviously we went hot and cold for a while. It’s a LOT of money, especially when it’s laden with extras that normal caravans have as standard. We will be saying goodbye to our 2002 Abbey Iona which has served us extremely well over the past 18 years. We like small vans, and the Iona is almost the exact triton size. A new adventure beginning, and I’m sure this forum will grow in interest for us.

Dave

When I was looking around an Eriba triton I seem to remember that the battery was inside, under one of the bench seats. Just seemed a bit strange. All caravans I’ve seen plus the one I currently have, have batteries in external lockers. Just wondered if anyone’s had issues with this arrangement, eg gassing batteries when under charge. The Eriba I will be getting will have a battery plus charger etc.

Dave, there have been long debates on Eriba forums about the internal battery and with no real conclusion. The point is though that I haven't heard any tales of Eriba folk being gassed by their batteries anyway.
I believe that a factory fitted battery is a gel type.
Personally, I have an AGM battery which I am quite happy with. If I had a wet lead acid battery I would fit a breather pipe and discharge it through the floor.

Thanks Crypto,

Yes I’ve since done a bit more searching and learnt about gel batteries. And I now remember our trusty old 1982 Swift Corniche that had the habitation located battery with its tube through the floor. So thanks again.
