Unfortunately the Capitalist mentality is a simple case of Survival of the fittest. If you were breaking your back to keep your business afloat and had borrowed money like it was going out of fashion so as to weather the storm and then some other firm in the same business was handed a gold plated get out of jail free card you'd be more than slightly pi**ed off. Well that's what this Government is doing and not just with the car scrappage scheme. There are many small Building Societies that have been trading efficiently, ethically and at a profit that have been dragged to the edge of destruction by the failure of the bigger High Street names and its the big names that have had the gold plated hand outs.
That said, all those that are reliant upon tax payer handouts deserve to go down the pan as that obviously have been operating a bad business model - i.e Discover. Companies built upon debt are only ever going to have a short shelf life as most of the majority of their income is used to pay off the interest on the loans that were secured against almost everything that they hold on their books.
So it's sink or swim I'm afraid and I sleep very well at night.
