we have a compass omega and have the best of both worlds if we so wish, we generally leave it as a L shape but can move the cushoins around so it back to being the normal 2 long seats, bed making was a bit like playing tetris for the first few times til we figured (and remebered) it out. now its not a problem

L shaped lounge, fixed bed thats the way forward for us, BUT, theres only been 1 model ive found comfortable and thats the Bailey senator wyoming. All the others we`ve tried out when ive sat under the front window, me heads been up against the window due to the slope of the front.the senator has more of a  vertical front to it and eliminates that minor irritation
I totally agree. When I have tried sitting in most L shape caravans the windows blinds get in the way and yes the Bailey is the best for this. The thing I would miss most is the chest of drawers in the middle. The flap on mine is big enough to eat off and I never use the big table. Also we dont make up the double bed ever. Its all down to personal choice.

On looking for a new to us van the one thing that I said was "as long as its 5 berth and doesn't have a L shape lounge I'll be happy".  Well three months down the line we are the very happy owners of a 5 berth with a L shape lounge.  We find that it gives us much more space and you don't feel as thrown together.  I don't find it a problem sitting on the window seats - this way why I didn't want this lay out as I thought you would have to lean forward rather than back in your seat.  The only problem we have found is that the kids have to lie down in the evening to watch TV so they'r not leaning on the blinds.  Its all down to personal choice at the end of the day, but don't rule it out.

We changed our caravan a few months ago and wanted an L shape lounge was very difficult to find at first but eventually found one,we went for a 4 berth sterling europa 2004.The L shape lounge is so much more roomier and setting the bed up is no problem. We found the seating area a lot bigger than the normal type especially when you want to set dining table up in the lounge..kids no longer have to scramble over us to get away from the table. We are off on our second trip in a few weeks to a great site called inside park dorset...cant wait!!
