Wizard, Did you have to change your light fittings or was it just a case of swapping your bulbs?

That would be great Wizard.

Out of interest, do you know if your LEDs have a built in charge regulator diode of some sort as I read on a thread on here that some wont work without one?

Could be why the one I tried previously didn't work maybe.

as previous posters have said these led bulbs are probably adequate for a caravan as lower softer light is usually what is required, But I have changed the gu10 halogen bulbs in my kitchen as 5 of them was 175 watts and 5 led was 5 watts, Obviously this appealed to me but if anyone is gonna try it beware that the light given off is rubbish I couldnt believe it when I turned them on and they cost £40 for 5

Hi there gang.

This is so specific to us...I cannot resist.

Look at my homepage.

We do LED lighting nationwide.

All our LED's are regulated 11-15v unless otherwise stated.

They typically draw between .01 and .02 of an amp, as opposed to as much as 1.5 amps for halogen spotlights.

They also produce very little heat, and have a life expectancy of between 50 and 80,000 hours (This is not a misprint!)

They are available in "Warm" or "Cold" and give off at least as much light as the equivalent 20w halogens.

If you like to be free of hookup, they are invaluable to people in the community.

I am available to discuss on my email or in forum.

Cheers

Nick!

Are you really sure of that current consumption Nick ????

I thought they used about 10 to 20% of the current and thus power of the halogens they replace not your quoted 0.7 to 1.5%.

I've just swapped all the bulbs on our new Adria, and bought the LED's from www.ultraleds.com.
Some were bright white, whilst others warm white. You just need to work out where you need the brightest light.
I forgot about the awning light, so just need to do that one now.

It's good to hear some positive feedback on the LEDs. It sounds like they are improving in the quality of light they give off. Just need to work out how many I need and what type, then take the plunge.

Yes, we only use the new generation diodes, I have the entire range on a test board here in front of me.

Not one of them is drawing more than 0.2.

The Halogen "Capsules" are drawing 0.9....almost a full amp, the replacement L6-sd-g4 LED is drawing 0.1....hence you can use 9 of them to the power of 1 of the halogen capsules....truly amazing!!

They produce no heat to speak of and are blindingly bright...all internally regulate 11-15v unless otherwise stated, anyone wishing to see my test board can do so if you are close to warrington.

That's better; I can accept 0.2 amps rather than your originally quoted .02, they really would be a new generation product.
