Well done, My OH has the less than 5' problem so would struggle with the awning even with steps, however she is more than capable of doing everything else on her own and has done on the past,

Now you can enjoy the freedom of hitching and going on your own whenever you want

Well done you, it's a great feeling when you've done it all yourself isn't it?

I went away for the first time on my own the second May bank holiday, someone else towed the van to site for me as I can't drive yet, and I had to ask the guy on the next pitch to help with the awning as I'm less than 5ft tall, but I did everything else myself and packed everything away, including taking down the awning, myself. I'd been worried about how I would cope, as my OH always did the 'technical' stuff but I was fine. My biggest worry, in the future, will be the towing bit!

trying to get my mrs to have a go at towing but she not having it, any ideas to get her to try ????????????////

Just ask her what part she is worried about, If she is worried about a certain part e.g. smaller roads, you drive up as far as the motorway or dual carriageway then swap over to get her confidence up and she takes over the motorway bit. Once she has done it she may think its not that bad,

It all depends too on what sort of passenger you are, My OH is an absolute nightmare (she drives coaches and buses for a living)  which is probably why I didn't like towing as she was in the car with me (and I don't usually drive her anywhere) , I think I would do it if I was on my own

Alternatively send her on one of the club manoevering courses, we both did it years ago when we first got a van and found the skills gained invaluable.
