Thanks, ok so, there is a separate tank for flushing? I think I need to sit and read the handbook before I ask any more silly questions!

Yes, there is a seperate tank for the water to flush the toilet with.  This is usually built into the 'toilet system', and this is where you add the pink stuff.  The blue/green stuff goes directly into the tank that collects the nasty stuff.

The water for drinking/cooking/washing i.e that comes out of the tap is the water that goes in the aquaroll.  This generally does not supply the toilet with water.

Please remember there are no silly questions.  The answers are only easy when you know them 17, so don't worry, ask away!

Pink for the flush tank and blue/green for the nasties., in the big tank that collects all the waste.

Aquaroll for the fresh water goes into the van system and comes out of the taps.  Good idea to flush out this freshwater system every year to make sure its clean.  Most use Milton (same as for baby bottles).  Add the required amount to the Aquaroll, open all the taps on the van until it runs through, leave for 15 minutes, then run the taps until that roll is empty.  Then do the same with a fresh barrel of water.   Clears the system of an mould/bugs that may have accumulated.  Be careful not to overdo it with the Milton or you will be left with "funny" smelling/tasting water for a while.

We only use the water from the van taps for drinking if it has been boiled for tea. etc. but lots of people use it straight fromt he tap and none I know of have keeled over yet.

Enjoy the new van.  Its definitely a learning curve but well worth the effort.
