Glossops were an Avondale main dealer so there should not be a problem with them having supplying it.
We bought a second hand Mayfair from them that had been supplied by them originally and have not had a problem,in fact they were so busy at the time they took our old Dart without even looking at it.
Its looks a nice van at a good price but check the service history and check for damp when you go,it sounds obvious but when you get sat inside and your heart says yes everything else can get forgotten.
We had a three hour round trip yesterday just to go for a walk so if it was me i would be there now.
There was a van like this at Bardsea leisure at the weekend only a double dinette version, it was lovely like a static!! Cant remember how much it was but look on the website as a comparison, I would get it if I had the cash!! LOVELY

It does'nt matter if Avondale have gone bust !!!! if the van is all above board and its as good inside as it is out go for it , we bought our Avondale after they had closed shop. hth. Bill
Surely it has some relevance? For instance, the van is a 2007 I think from memory, there will be no warranty for water ingress up to year 6 for instance unless a third party warranty is purchased.
Eventually parts will become thin on the ground too.
We had been looking for a caravan on and off for about 18 months but just couldn't commit. As soon as we walked into our 2008 Avondale in June, we just had to have it. It ticked every box. Four months on, after 6 weekends and a week in France we still absolutely adore it ! So I say Go For It ! (after the usual checks of course... !)
P.S. We have a dealers warranty which we will just renew when it runs out.
It looks enormous. I'd hate to be lugging that around. Do sites actually have pitches big enough. I can see you putting it on a permanent site in the end cos its just too big.
Our caravan is about the same size and we have just returned from France where we must have done about 2,000 miles, including some hairy mountain roads, also been to Scotland and all over England and Wales with it, no problem if you have the right car, twin axle vans are actaully easier to tow. We won't be putting it on a permanent site as we like visiting new places, and pitches are usually big enough, we enquire when booking.

Will that do?

Has it got any warrenty with the dealer the people bought it from? Have you ever noticed how often those who post in the repair section have an Avondale that has the dreaded damp. We had an Avondale (it was a 1992 model so take that into account) and it got the damp. So we got a new 'van this year that has a 6 year water ingress warrenty and i'd not touch a van without that guarentee.
For me the fact that there will be no-one to take the 'van back to if there were any problems would be enough to put me off buying. I know its not as luxurious but the Bailey Ranger GT60 520/4 was priced at just under £13,000 in April this year when we got ours, not sure of the price now and is a lovely 'van and you are paying a little more for brand new with a guarentee!
What will you do if you discover damp next year and find its going to cost £££'s to repair. Will you still be as keen on it?
You asked! Did that help?
Have to say it looks lovely but so do lots of other 'vans...
