You'll be amazed how useful those pop up tents are, We bought one from asda 2 years ago for £15 and whenever we take our awning down the night before we come home they are so useful.,
You just need to get the nack of putting it back in the bag
------------- Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
They are relatively inexpensive, can be put up in 10mins and avoid the need to trample wet and dirty stuff directly into the caravan if it's raining outside - at this time of year they are a must in my view
I was wondering the same thing myself sniffer, especially if you throw a grubby dog into the equation! I wouldnt be without mine, but each to their own.
The reason we dont want any kind of awning is that for the past 10 years we have camped and spent hours drying off tents when we got home - I still fancy a small porch awning (simply for shoes!) but oh is adamant - nothing that even resembles a tent (yet he was the one who suggested a pop up tent for shoes!)
Really I think a small porch awning would be good - if its peeing down with rain at least its somewhere to take off your wet boots instead of everyone piling in the van, the carpet gets soaked and theres mud everywhere - then someone has to go out and put the muddy shoes somewhere....
I'm going to work on my oh and see if I can wear him down....

lindjemp, we too feel the same about awnings. We currently use a large porch awning but when we change to our next caravan we would like to not have to use an awning for the same reasons as you! But unfortunately with 2 dogs we'll have to see how we get on! It would be nice to just get the 'van ready and be off and not have to worry about taking down tghe awning especially when its wet!
