You can come and see me. Our brass band is playing in Durham Market Place tomorrow afternoon
Hi we went away in the van on Thursday ended up with 12inches of snow should have got the van home today, but have left van on site we have come home to see our grnadaughter before they go back to their mum for Christmas, lucky we were only less the an hour from home. going back to the van later and hoping to get it home tomorrow. Brother in law and wife think there will have to stay until after Christmas as they live in Lincoln. it has been different with that amount of snow round us.
Daft question, but how many of you have winter tyres fitted on your cars?
Admittedly this is the first year I've specifically had winter tyres fitted and I've just come back home from 5 days away down in south Wales. The only thing that stopped me during that time was a 20% quarter-mile hill - all the rest I was fine on!
The number of people who were also trying to set off in 1st gear and with tyres with not much tread on (yes, I was a little nosey at times ) was just shocking - no wonder people complain that they can't get anywhere.
As for the towing in snow, I was fortunate in that I only had a fairly sharp belt of snow come down between Hereford & Ledbury, otherwise the roads were mainly just wet.
Patience, courtesy, a lack of "I HAVE TO GET THERE NOW!" attitude and plenty of rest breaks = a decent drive, I find
Sat in the van looking out on to a very festive looking Sandringham CC site arrived yesterday roads where fine ,no problems getting van on to the pitch despite towing with a petrol mondeo, unlike some of the others we have helped get onto their pitch's.
