We went today as planned, I was surprised how busy it was given the reports that the show had been quiet alll week. Parts of the show were so busy you coud have walked on their heads. These tended to be on the outer edge of the halls where all the smaller stands were.
I also feel the organisers need to give some consideration to the fact their paying visitors need to eat while there. Lots, me included, prefer to take food rather than pay through the nose for the on site catering facilities yet after all the years of this show, these visitors still have no where to sit within the show area unless they sat on the floor. There was people everywhere by the external doors sitting on the floor eating their lunch. This surely isn't right when adults paid up to £14 a head to walk in the door.
We'd planned on taking a packed lunch, we made te sandwiches & left them on the work top so had to buy food tere. We went out to the eternal food halls & had Subway, £17 for four of us. I've never been to one before but I understand the prices were the same as one we had local to us. We had a job to get a seat out there because it was so busy.
All in all we had a good day, I wanted to get a few things sorted & managed to see most of the people I needed to find. However, we won't be going on a weekend day again. Perhaps we'll stand a chance of getting a look inside a few more of the exhibits if we go midweek.

We went on Wednesday and it was fine, no problem getting into anything. One rep told me that is the quiet day of the week so I'd always make sure I have a day off midweek if I go again.

Hi,
We had a nose around for a few hours yesterday and really enjoyed ourselves. It was busy enough but apart for the queue to go in the Stealth we got to see all we wanted.
The Stealth van, after all it's hype was a bit dissapointing, it's external finish looked a bit "home made" and I can quite well believe it was made by an ex-upvc window company...good luck to them but it's not for me.
Airstream had a good display (aimed at first time caravanners with more money than sense) but sadly the products are too expensive, too heavy and not that well finished. (A bit like sitting in your own Tube carriage I thought)
We also saw the "whats'itlike" , which was attracting quite a lot of attention...it reminded me of a hand painted workmans mobile canteen from the 1960's so we scurried past quickly.
We did however achieve what we went for and Mrs UM bought some bedding for our van and we impulse bought a big beach umberella that does the same job as a beach shelter but is 20x quicker to put up...(but 4x heavier!)
I guess now that we have had our fix that will be the last show we attend for a couple of years.
Chris Gosling was there making one of his home movies...so watch out for us next episode.
Mr UM
