I've been on a quest for longer than I can remember looking for a duvet that can be folded small - is there such a thing as a "compact duvet"? We are limited for spaced and I bought small sleeping bags last year - they were great - but I prefer a duvet. I posted a query about this last year but had no luck - any advance?
We're pondering the same question - always used to be a sleeping bag opened out over us, but Mr Squirrel gets very warm (oooh err, Mrs!!) . So, I shall have a single duvet and he will have the choice of: sleeping bag (opened out), fleece, sheet, which he can then mix and match. We've got a new fixed bed tintent, so it'll be fun trying it out!! (smaller than our last one tho', which we had in the Elddis, but which we had to construct/deconstruct daily!)
Can't wait for Easter!

To Feeblecat and Secret Squirrel, As I have said earlier, better than any sleeping bag or duvet, we use Merano Blankets which, by their very nature are far smaller than anything else both folded and in use.
If you look in our gallery, I doubt if your caravan is any smaller than ours!!!!
Sleeping bags for the kids and duvet for us. Hate being restricted and we like to stick a leg out if it gets too warm. We have a king size goose down duvet which packs down so small it takes up less room than one of the kids sleeping bags.
We have a sleeping bag underneath us with a fitted sheet over the top
A sleeping bag every time for us. Making the bed up is done in no time at all, no faffing about with sheets etc. Put a blanket on top when it is cold, leave the zips undone when - sorry if - it is warm.

Lobey have you a link anywhere - I've had a quick glance on web but they are very expensive! thanks
Sorry feeblecat but the missus bought ours on the Blanket Trip when in Tenerife.
Then again, it is a good excuse to have a holiday abroad.
The storage space we have in the van for extended month long tours is limited and we often wildcamp, so being able to get out of bed in a hurry to investigate whatever, is essential. So careful thought and about 40 years of camping and caravaning has gone into our present set up that gives us the guarantee that after a day out enjoying ourselves, we will have the best nights sleep possible.
Our set up, the way we caravan and what we are prepared to pay to achieve our wishes will not suit most people, but as we are now heading towards our last 20 years or so of this marvellous hobby, what we buy now is expected to see us until we give up and resort to package holidays.
I just wish to hell that we had spent a bit more money in our early years and bought good quality gear that would have lasted longer and given us the comfort that we are now enjoying.
duvet for us mostly , will have to use sleeping bag under duvets when away at easter. Did this last year and found we needed it as it was colder early in the season.
We have a fixed bed and make it up per our home bed, ie mattress cover, bottom fitted sheet, top sheet, duvet. However we do have a memory foam topper as the current mattress is not the best! (As opposed to the one in our former Swift caravan which was bliss.)
I also keep a double sleeping bag flat beneath the mattress in case of very cold nights in winter. It stores there without taking up valuable cupboard space and is readily available if required either for extra warmth for us or for unexpected overnight guests.
