Theres really nothing to servicing a caravan. Once out of warranty, get a chassis service every 2 yrs & do the rest yourself, hardly a huge expence.
What about gas and electricity safety checks?

A habitation service does not include cleaning out fridge gas burner or any repairs that are all chargable extra. Apart from repairs which you can't do yourself what is there to do? If there is a gas leak you can smell it & electrics just need a visual check. Its the sort of thing you can do every time you use the caravan.
Fridge gas burners can usually be accessed by removing lower vent on outside of 'van & cleaned with small paintbrush & meths anyway. If you gain understanding of how the inside of your caravan works & keep a regular check on things it is better than paying out good money for a 'habitation service' that probably includes nothing more than a check to see if the appliances are working.

Yes, you do have a choice if you have a new caravan.
As long as it is a caravan council approved workshop/service engineer,(mobile or otherwise) the warranty is still fine,if there is any warranty work needed it has to go back to the dealer you bought it from.
I have it in black and white from Kelly at Bailey.
