I am not sure where the no water ingress comes from. As far as I am aware Bailey do not say that their vans are water-tight!! Water will still seep in through the joints, it's just that you will not notice it because of the build material on the inside walls, unless I am wrong of course and I stand to be corrected here..
Collected my Pegasus in January and have towed approx 700 miles in it, I have not found any stone dents on the front and if I did I am not sure how Bailey would be to blame for this any more than other manufacturers would be held responsible for potential stone dents or chips in any of my previous caravans! Adding protection seems a sensible idea that I will address though.
I am very happy with the Pegasus, apart from some initial small niggles (no more than on previous vans) it has been fine. It is difficult to judge by all these negative posts about the Pegasus whether I have been lucky or like me whether the vast majority have no/few complaints and those posting about their problems are the unlucky few!

I must have been lucky too!!! We've towed ours 3500 miles now. Can't sse any stone chips BUT have a dent being repaired at present - caused by road debris.
Regarding stone chips ,due to the bad winter and all the pot holes the stones from the pot holes are all over the road ,this may be making matters worse in the short term. The roads are slowly getting better but earlier in the year my car took quite a few nocks on the front. Just a thought
Dont all vans have this problem ? or am i missing something, i think its just got to part and parcel of towing is it not. you have to acept its going to get some damage whilst on the road, you do seem be on some sort of crusade though, just live with it chill out and enjoy your van
Could it be the tread on your tyres picking up more pebbles than normal as you own a 4x4.Always seem to be picking them out of our tyres on our Terrano, especially after being on a hard standing.
We all know how easy the sides of a caravan dint so perhaps Bailey should have thought of this in the first place. If they are adding protection now they must realise there is a problem.

like i suspected, waste of time posting this on this particular forum. best to stay elsewhere from now...
Bev & Jon, that is a bit harsh. I appreciate that you have had far more niggles & more serious faults than you deserve with your Pegasus.
As you stated in your first post, the number of vans with the issue is around 1% of vans sold. Removing the non Bailey owner's posts there are 4 or 5 Pegasus owners on this thread. Bailey have added extra protection since launch, we'll have to see what difference this makes.
Taking these figures, and the fact you have had your Pegasus longer than most people, don't be disheartened that there are not loads of others with the same issue.
Please don't give up on this forum, there are some people who are interested, even if we don't always agree on everything.

Nice Post Zafiral
Seconded!
It's a horrible experience having a van you are unhappy with. I know the friends who bought one wish they'd never bothered. In fact they are pretty low about caravans full stop at the moment. Their previous van wasn't that old when the dealer they sent to be serviced by declared it was scrap due to damp. So they took the plunge and bought a new one and it's been nothing but trouble - and does the dealer want to know? Of course not.
To be honest we looked at buying new van two years ago and spent a lot of time looking at just about every manufacturers' offerings - in the end we were so disheartened by the build quality that we decided against it. Sadly too many of the people we know who have recently bought new vans have been unhappy with the vans they have bought and even less happy with the support from dealers.
I am right behind you Bev+John !!
I don't own a Pegasus thank god but the manufacturers must stand up for themselves and sort these problems out !
Bet the Peg mk II has some sort of ABS cap on the front to sort this ridiculous problem out !!
Go Girl !!
------------- FINE PRINT: I reserve the right to be wrong. Should you prove me wrong, I reserve the right to change my mind.
keep going bev+jon one day these manufacturers will listen to the customer.i for one would not buy one from reading all the reports on here from yourself and others and until all the problems are sorted.you have my support.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
I too like to be forewarned of any potential problems with different brands of caravans, we work very hard and our caravan is a big outlay for us so it's good to know what to look out for.
I'm sure the Pegasus is a big learning curve for Bailey and they can only sort out any teething problems if customers let them know what problems they are having and also happy customers telling them what they are getting right with the design.
Plus it must be gutting for you to be going through this, it's so exciting getting anything new and awful when it turns out not to be as you expected.
