the alko locks are registered to the van so any future buyer can get replacment keys etc so the one your friend has is worthless. better to buy the reciever and lock from alko the register to your van as per the enclosed info

we had these locks as standard when we bought our bailey carolina twin axle they are easy on a twin line the first one up and fit then jack or drag van till second lines up easy takes about 5 mins

The Milenco wheel clamp is very good.  Not many accessory shops sell it.  I bought mine from a caravan show.  If I recall it was £90 from the Milenco stand.

It is a bit of a fiddle at first but when you are used to fitting it it is easy.

It looks very similar to the Alko but does not need a fixed receiver on the chassis.  It has its own indepedent receiver.  You do however need a 40mm gap on the wheel trim.   Mine is fitted to a Bailey Senator Arizona.

There are other locks that fit in the Al ko receiever-Bulldog and Purpleline.

A colleague has the Bulldog on his, its a bit easier to fit than the Al ko apparantly. ( Cheaper too!) My insurers give discount for these type of locks/tracker etc.

We got the Al Ko and Tracker with our Pegasus, I had the Al ko one from my previous Burgundy, advertised it on here sold no problem! ( No E-bay charges either!)

If you mean the proper Al-Ko wheel lock then in my opinion it's well worth it. I had the other make you mention on our last van & when it was stolen off the drive the wheel clamp was found in my neighbours hedge all twisted up where the scum had used something like a pair of stilsons & a steel tube for leverage to twist the frame from around the tyre.

Our neighbour is an AA man,and I was talking to him about getting the AlKo lock.

He says he can remove one in seconds! He had a call out to motorways services where someone had fitted the lock before going inside the services. On returning they couldn't find their key to remove it and eventually called the  AA. 

I won't post how he does it, but it leaves the lock wrecked. I'm guessing a thief wouldn't care if the lock got wrecked either!

Needless to say, we didn't bother buying one.

On a positive note, he did say that ANY extra security is a good thing as Mr Thief will go for the easiest target!

Just crross your fingers your's isn't stolen to order!
