Never leave home without a tow rope in the boot - never know when you might need it and it doesn't take up much room.

That's exactly the reason I take one! LOL!!

...and tool set/air compresor/small tarp... never used them (touching wood) but that's why I take them! If I didn't you can guarantee I would need them!

We always carry a length of good rope in the car. we also normally carry some two core wire & a few tools.You never know when you'll need it or what you'll  need it for.
