I grow alot of dahlias which attract earwigs... Put some straw or hay into an up turned plastic cup... they will hide in there and each day you can then dispose of them as you wish.
we never gte earwigs here but had a realy problem with them in scotland so there definatly scottish earwigs
Hi fallenangel, Got visions of the earwigs running about in kilts now, play some bagpipe music and when they all come out to do a jig, hoover them up, Sorry could not resist that wee of humour, Really hope you get it sorted, then you will be content in your van again.

Look in the gardening section of just about any supermarket or general store for 'NIPPON' ant killer powder. Poundstretcher definitely sell it. It's a fine white powder that has to be shaken onto the floor where the earwigs roam. It's supposed to be harmless to cats and dogs (but if I remember correctly it IS harmful to fish).
Spread the stuff around your caravan and vac it up a few days later. Repeat after a week just in case the little blighters are breeding and have laid eggs... Have fun!
Ok this is what you need. Flea bombs!!. Empty out your food preparation stuff etc open locker doors and the smoke will kill all living creatures inside. It's a bit like total fumigation.
They are the mutts for clearing out bugs. Do it on a nice day so you can air the van afterwards. Oh and tell the neighbours they might think you are torching the van.
flea bombs would worrie me as your not supposed to use them in a bedroom and as we sleep in the van and i have ashma its a bit iffy if there not gone buy the time the van gets sorted for winter i might do ne then as it will ahve a few months to disperce before we use it again is it the bob martin ones you use

LOL, see what you mean! I meant as long as the kids/dogs don't eat it like custard powder....
According to another poster it's no longer available to buy, ohhhhh, such handy stuff. And no more iodine in little bottles either, that was brilliant for both ppl and dogs. Obviously we are no longer deemed clever enough to use it properly.

Try and see the film "Earwig" starring Lawrence Harvey...I won't tell you what happened.......

I tend to like all creatures (apart from George Bush) but I don't particularly want another living thing in my caravan! You have now got me thinking about all the vents etc. so I will be tipping everything upbefore I dare to get into bed on our next adventure!
