Road lights need to be e-approved for vehicles used in europe. Aftermarket LED bulbs are not e-approved. The lenses have to be designed to work with the LED's, hence the reason they are e-approved on cars with factory LED's. I would assume the law is the same for trailers/caravans. So although you could fit LED's for side markers, tail lights etc, they wouldn't be legal. Seems a shame, as for brake lights they have a faster response time. Replacing indicator bulbs with LED's may also stop the beeper from functioning in the towcar.
