We say we are going to use it all year, but in reallity we use the van from February-October. We are bound by school holidays and the fact that leading up to Christmas is silly time for me, although I am officially retired!! Just been down to Kent fo a week and got the van back to storeage at about 9.30pm last night. M25 & M1 = (in that order!) I suspect the van will just get its regular visits now until the New Year - you never know though?

March/April - October - even though its on our drive I know it won't be used until them and probably only a quick weekend before Easter. Its my sons birthday in Feb half term so too much planning for his birthday otherwise we'd go then.
All year with perhaps a small break when van is serviced in Feb and weather can be really bad in February anyway. As long as it is safe to travel we are out.
We go all year from Feb through to November, and xmas if we can away (work issues) . it tends to be more arounds kids holidays but has worked out to be every 4 - 5 weeks. Just getting readt for this week end at Wirral Country Park for Bonfire night. Its really special and the kids love it. Been up this weekend to the caravan in storage and coverted to winter mode, i.e. thicker Duvets, hot chocolate etc, from the previous summer mode. We have an Adria altea 542 uk and find this no problem in the winter months.
we use ours all year , at least we do when it or me isnt broken as we both currently are.
love cold frosty days and ultra peaceful sites through the winter, you just cant beat being warm and cosy inside with a glass or 3 of wine after a being out for a walk somewhere .
Thanks for all the replies - maybe I need to try a spot of winter caravaning again! Having 2 small children when we did try in late October we found it difficult as children didn't want to stay outside too long and mud seemed to get splattered everywhere.
We have the dilema that we would love to keep going away but its finding sites we can get to that is the problem. Not so bad in summer as its lighter until later and everywhere is open, but in winter is a bit too dark to safely get our caravan out when we get home from work. That only leaves us with a Saturday only stay, but as no where accepts people until after 12 it leaves very little of the day left to enjoy before its dark again. Also, most sites locally are now closed except for one or two club sites which only allow two night bookings at weekends!
Would love a seasonal pitch in winter, we could then get away after work on Friday, but our budget does not stretch to the £500 upwards being charged.
We use ours all year. According to my spread sheet we go every 4th week, Oct thru to March. Then every 3rd week May to Sept which includes 3 seperate weeks in Jun, Jul and Sept. We mostly try to avoid school holidays. Winter caravanning is great as it's so quiet and peacefull. On winter weekends we tend to just book the Sat and Sun nights, and get up earlyish on Monday - means we are a bit late for work but both our jobs are pretty flexible. The only thing we have to look out for in winter is hardstanding as we don't have a 4wd and have got stuck on wet grass in the past. Which means we mainly stay on CC sites in winter. Last year we stayed at Littlehampton CC site for Christmas. This year it's my turn to work, so Christmas is at home !
love caravanning all year round in all sorts of seasons and weather.just done half term in Devon;next hol is 27th of dec for a week in the New Forest.Feb half term after that, then easter....its a hard life!!

Xmas-still looking...
We are off to Teversal in 2 weeks, Devizes in Feb, hoping to slot a few days in before or after Xmas....
If you've got a van, why not use it?! Get the heating on, put a slow cook on, have a good walk, come back to a warm van and a warm supper....does it get any better?
Hi all, new to caravanning from camping, so season is starting for us on the 29th December for 4 nights, can’t wait, and the season will end when my wife & daughter tells me so,
