I think it depends what you want to use it for, if its for storage, ie coats, boots etc or if you want to sit out in it, and how many of you there are. We have just bought an Isabella magnum, but for a small caravan you may be better off with a full awning as a magnum might just about be as big as a full!

Hiya - the answer for me was simple - short weekend during the colder/winter months - Porch Awning everytime - somewhere to kick off your walking boots and hang your wet coats etc - however - warmer months or longer weekends - Full Awning every time - good social area, for us, the kids, as a family or entertaining the neighbours!

I have both. Full for long stays , porch for short stays , or full for short stays as well if the grandchildren come with us .
Neither of mine are the lightweight type and the time to put up is about the same really. it gets much quicker once you get used to it.
I also have one annex for the porch and 2 annexes for the full one .
I use the awning a lot. I don't like sitting in the sun so use with the panels removed in hot weather .
we have a big table in the awning for eating, we very rarely sit inside the van.
I have three awnings and which one get used depends on the length of stay and the weather. A week or more I always use full awning and I virtually live in it then. for 1 - 5 night stays in the summer I have a light weight porch that I mostly use as it packs down quickly and only take 15 mins to erect. The downside of it is there are no internal poles to hang coats etc from and it is very fragile in strong winds, but it only cost me £30 off ebay. The other awning I have is a porch built for winter caravanning and it has a steep sloping roof with additional roof poles to assist with sliding the snow off and it is made from a waterproof material which means I can put it away wet and dry it in the car port when I get home without harming it plus the mud just wipes off. The awning that takes the longer to put up is the winter porch and that is due to the number of poles and extra pegging required. If I had to choose one it would have to be the full awning as it has the best memories for me. With the lightweight one I am always concerned about it shredding in the wind.
For a 13ft caravan I would definitely go for a full awning as it will give you the extra space and being fairly small it wont weigh a great deal. Try a second hand one and see how you get on with it. Many of the caravan dealers have second hand awnings and there is always ebay, preloved and freecycle to keep an eye on.
