Someone correct me but is it not dangerous to try and charge a battery in side you vehicle cab because of the risk of hydrogen being expelled from the battery with a risk of an explosion. Try explaining that to your insurance.

My old VW Beetle had the battery under the rear seat , never had problems with that
Also citreon picassos have theres under the passenger seat

As did the Skoda Estelle, and the MG B I am sure there would have been others. I recall an MG B that had rolled over and battery acid had leaked out and eaten a hole in the back seat, so that one was definately vented.
