glad i read this post ive been doing my head in as there is no filter in our bailey ranger (our first outing in it at whit)and have been weighing up the options and was gonna look at fitting a filter in the inlet pipe on pump assembly but might just stick with our first choice of a water filter jug inside van

Our Swift Challenger didn't have a filter fitted when we brought it and the water tasted terrible so we sterilised the system again and fitted a whale aquaclear online water filter now the water taste is fine and no messing with bottled water (dont have room in fridge for it because all the wine and beer!). It only needs replacing once a year took 10min to fit with push fit connectors.

our van doesn't have a filter but then I only use the water for dishes. We use bottled for drinking and cooking as it tastes better and we also go abroad.
Cheers
Richard

my last 2 caravans had filters and were difficult to remove to renew. This one doesnt have a filter. Thank goodness. I used to always drink the water straight from the caravan tap without problem but now I fill up a water bottle and use direct from the site tap.
hii have a doulton /berkenfield filter its a ceramic filter with silver inlay. i have used it when travelling in africa. but having worked in the water industry. why if you arent going any where exotic bother. if you fill and empty your tank .containers .at least twice ,leave the last one over night with tap water here in uk its about as clean as you will get it. i find the water in eu ok.most of north africa as good water on tap. unless we use river or water thats suspect we dont use the filter. my mate who is alergic to clorine etc uses the nature pure system and is very pleased with it.if you dont have an alergy it probably not worthbothering to filter. you could boil water if suspect.
A lot of people think, just because they dont clean the system the water is safe cause they dont drink it.Boiling the water maybe safe BUT you use the cold to cool it,eg dishes..where your putting contaminated water on your plates.Yep id clean the system filter or not..
