Well, we're going to York with the caravan for a week and I can't say that we will be watching the wedding live, but I have bought a couple of buntings off ebay for £1.87 and will pop it around the 'van and show a little Patriotism.

Well we're off to London for that weekend!!! It was to be our first time taking the caravan to London & was all booked before they announced the wedding date. I'm excited but the OH is trying to talk me out of going then & trying his hardest, I might even buy some bunting and other bits to trim up.

Bunting and as much royal wedding tat as possible will be packed for our outing to Rowsley I LOVE the whole Royal Wedding pomp and ceremony x Though saying that the picture on the tv has never been great there so we might not actuallly see it !
ps my friends company has been told that bank holidays are not compulsary and that she will have to take it out of her holiday entitlement !

In answer to fiona
I think it's great you are going to make a do of it, your children will love it, I like the baking cakes idea.
We shall have the union flag flying on our van but as we are at a site near our daughters we will be watching it with her.
To those who scorn....
I think no matter what our views are we shouldn't let that rub off on our young ones, they grow up far to quickly, let them have fun as fiona is with hers.
If nothing else it's is a big day in history for them.
There are a lot of places not giving it as a holiday!
What about all the supermarkets they will still be open I suspect.
Some folks say they are not interested but they won't turn down the chance of a paid day off when given one!

Ah c'mon you big miseries!! Our future king is getting married whether you like it or not its a day that will go down in British history! Its not a time to get political lets just embrace the fun part of it. Sorry to those who don't get the day off though - I thought it was a day off for all. Hmmm. I wasn't offered one, I was told I was given one. Wow, thanks. Now if there was a codicil that said "and you are obliged to spend it celebrating the Royal Wedding" I'd have been in work like a shot!
