The Carrabike stand is very good, we put them between the 2 front seats and the noseweight is ok, they are quite lightweight bikes though, we have never had any problems with weight distribution, we always carry the awning on the back seat of the car, i suppose that is easy for us just being the 2 of us though. If you have a mover fitted then remember that has to come out of your payload too. If you have a mover (as we do), then I would always carry the bikes on the roof of the car. The other bonus of this is you can possibly take the bikes to some better to ride rather than just around the campsite & the roads around there.
The problem with me putting them on the roof (as I had considered this), is that I have a new 7 seater Kia Sedona, and to be honest its HUGE !, my hubby is not coming with me on quite a few of t he trips away as he works away a lot, and so I don't think I would be able to get the bikes up onto the roof by myself :-(
I'll let you all know how I get on with the Carabike, I am taking the awning out of the caravan and putting it in the car so I am not overloading the van :-)
