Thats really bad, just by not doing anything the site owners are condoning the behaviour. it sounds as though the police could have been involved regarding the abuse and also the fact they were "gang handed", intimidation, verbal abuse...in fear of your safety. this type of behaviour is deplorable.
I really hope you have a fantastic weekend at the other site although it will take time to shake off your bad experience.
Wishing you all the very best.
Thanks Elaine, hope so, lol, couldnt have another experience like that ever,
theres always one long stay caravanner on the site who thinks they own it and the site owners never say a peep ,i could name a few ,there was one guy on a site i was on used to write things in a book and report everything to the owners (get a life )obviously getting backhanders or cheaper site fees for his trouble, thing was nobody done anything untoward but he made everything look like a major crime
Thats why I dislike seasonal pitches, Caravanning used to be so friendly meeting different people from all walks of life, Since they have introduced all these seasonal pitches I always feel like an outsider when visiting new sites. I think seasonal pitches like static's should be kept seperate from the touring pitches.
I am so sorry to here about what you have gone through. I am so suprsied that the site are letting him stay on, I appreciate he is a seasonal pitch and that guarantes them income, but the rate he is going it sounds like it will be there only income and then where will they be.
Seems like the owners have forgotten what word of month can do!
He sounds like a right half wit, hope karma bites him on the backside big style!!
The minority spoil it for the majority but dont let it put you off, it will have hardened you up a bit if it happens again!!
------------- Jan:Braids Gretna, Feb Stanwix Park Silloth & Braids Gretna,
hey everyone am just back from my weekend away, we booked into Clare Glen in Tandragee, and what a lovely relaxed site, met some lovely helpful people, thats what caravaning is all about surely!!! and was amused to hear that some of them had horrible experiences too at certain sites, so glad we went away this weekend, and il def go back to that site again.
What a horrible experience. No wonder you were upset.
We have really only had 2 negative experiences and they do upset you. We were staying on a site north of Newcastle and when we got to the site we found we'd been put down among very tall dark pine trees in the middle of a group of friends who were gearing up for a party. Well they got well and truly rat-arsed and the noise was terrible, the language was terrible, the drunken stumbling around to go to the loo past our van at 1 am was terrible.
I didnt sleep a wink, but got up at the crack of dawn to sit on the doorstep of the site office, and when it opened I demanded a pitch as far away from them as poss or my money back. Luckily they repitched us, as the next night we could hear they were partying again.
The second not very nice experience was only minor but it upset our kids. We were on a site in France and these 2 vans arrived - huge great double axel things pulled by huge 4x4s, both with only 2 people, no kids - and obviously not pro-kids, and obviously friends, who proceded to set up an emcampment with their windbreak fences around them. Our kids were playing with the campsite owner's kids with a frisby and the old scroats complained about them Running Around and Having Fun (on a campsite!) and then took the frisby away and hid it on their awning. Luckily I wasn't standing for it and went over with the kids and Got It Back. He was trying to pretend he hadn't seen it but I could see it on his awning. The kids were upset that an adult could behave so meanly to them.

Don't worry OP, one day he will pick the wrong person and get his just desserts. Where is this site? ;-)
Hmmm, UKCS Meet perhaps? I bet he wouldn't like twenty or thirty people turning round and telling him where he can stick it
I remember an incident quite a few years ago. I was in a party of about 18 younsters
[ I know, it was a while ago ! ] and this old guy proceeded to give us all a lecture before we had even set up properly. gave us a right earbashing about how youth of today had no morals,no respect and no manners. We were on a D.of E. expedition ? The leaders were staying on site at the far end of the field. anyway this guy went off to pub whilst we cooked tea and planned next days walking, When he came back he woke a few of us up, staggering around tripping over our guy ropes and swearing loudly. By the time we had repaired our ropes, this was the days of canvas scout tents by the way. He was snoring so loud he could be heard on the other side of the site.
Revenge !! we moved his tent from over him pitched it perfectly 100 yards away and left him where he was. You should have seen his face next morning ??
As we were leaving the site owners came over and thanked us for giving them the best laugh they had had since they took over the site with him as a sitting tenant from the previous owners.
