I've been trying to age my Corvette to try and insure it for storage, and just found this thread, full of knowledgeable people! Can any of you shed some light on the year of my van?
I'll put a pic in my gallery.
P.s. There's no plate on the door as I think it's been replaced, and have checked all over but no clues.
Hi there, Just wondering if anyone can shed any light on what year our Swift Corvette is? It is Dark Green and White and has the letter 'S' after the word corvette on the side...Also it doesn't have the big 'box' on top of the towbar area..
Hope someone can help! I'm not sure how to upload a pic or I would! :-)
Lee your van is an 87 ... the S refers to the S pack that was offered as an option that year ... included H&C and a shower

It is a 1988 or 89. Both were much the same but the 1989 tended to come with a diamond pack which included a window in the door

Just jumping on this, we also have a corvette we are trying to get info on. Would anyone know what year this might be? I thought 1991 but not sure now.
I’m also trying to find a contact for swift to see if they have any archived manuals we could get, but struggling there. No reply to emails I’ve sent - does anyone know main contact for swift at all? Thanks
Ps don’t mind the arrows all over the photo, we are currently doing repairs ready for this years camping trip (half the caravan is inside our house at the moment!)
To be honest I would normally suggest starting a new thread for posts such as yours - I got really confused when I saw that earlier comments were dated 2011 and 2015!
Anyway, my best guess is that your caravan is from the late 80s (1987-90). It can't be newer than 1991, because from 1992 on all caravans were registered to a universal system (CRIS) and had a registration number etched into the windows.
There will be a metal plate somewhere, most likely by the bottom of the door that will include a chassis number. My understanding is that for Swift caravans aged between 1983 and 1991, the first two digits give the year of manufacture.
Some archived manuals are available at the link below. The earliest I can see from a quick glance is 1993, but it may be that much of what's in the caravan is the same.
Hi, thanks for the reply. I don’t know if it’s my phone not optimising the website properly but it wouldn’t let me start a new post yesterday.
Anyway, thanks for the link, I’ll have a look at those. We can’t find any plates anywhere in the van, I think they are long gone. If it isn’t too hard then I think the only option is to take the A frame cover off to see if the VIN is on the A frame.
I'd say 87 or 88. Our 89 model had the more rounded front which succeeded the model you have. We kept our Corvette for 20 years and loved it. It's a shame manufacturers don't produce that layout now.
Thanks for the info. It’s a great little van, we love it. Unfortunately did need damp repairs doing which we are part way through, hoping to be done ready for holiday in a few weeks. When I saw the ad for it I went for it as it’s probably the only caravan that will fit on our drive way!
