Just a quick update been working on the van all since 10am & just got into bed now lol. It's been completely stripped of rotten wood and replaced with new just got a bit of strengthening to do then time for the wall boards . Once again thanks to wizard & everyone else for the help and advice along the way
Well just an update on progress since my last post- none Lol. Did my back in on thursday night on the trampoline with the kids. Damn things are lethal lol. Was hoping to get finished this weekend before work Monday night. Oh well just hope it's back to normal soon.
I had very similar issues with an Avondale Ulysses. It turned out that there was a leak where the roof joins the front panel, despite it appearing dry there. With the wallboard removed, it was clear that the moisture was running down the frame and soaking into the sides and the area below the front window. Took me quite a while to identify where the water was coming from.
A word of warning, that's exactly what I thought mine was. repanelled it all to find it had started to get damp again in exactly the same place. I suggest you leave the panels off the inside and take a good look in heavy rain to make sure there is no more getting in. Those wall boards are not cheap if they need placing again in a few months.
