I don't mean to be rude but why would any one let their van get so dirty .Then say what do i clean it with if they keep them clean to start with then there would not be a problem.

When we get ours I will want to keep it at it's best,I clean the house/car so why would anyone not clean their van.

It might be worth trying one of the dry wash liquids e.g. One Dry Wash. It gets rid of all the black streaks on my van very easily, but I suppose it depends on the severity of the problem. It's got to be worth a try.

To Stocky13 , I applaud your resolve re cleaning , unfortunately some of us have no access to water in parking places and the dry wash products are expensive . Living in Devon , where we are rapidly running short of water even for our veggies , we may soon be forced to give up all but essential use of water . There will be even more dirty `vans and cars then !!

Was going to suggest trying 'claybar' but would probably cost a fortune to use on a caravan.

I like the purple, but perhaps a shade lighter? Like a soft Rose

We are the same here in Kent , lack of water if it carries on nothing will get washed, and my lettuce might wilt!!! plus even with the best cleaning a van will streak, I try and wash mine reguarly but those streaks keep on a coming.

Hi Keely, no idea how to help you re: black marks. I had asked Andy too as he is the cleaning expert so will watch this thread with interest. Nice van you have there, particularly like the shape and roof box storage - as long as it does it's job and keeps you warm and dry who cares? Our Lunar has an odd pink tinted window on the front but just gives it more character (that's what Andy keeps telling me anyway lol)

Hi, Auto Glym Super Resin Polish,and Extra Gloss Protection works fine on black streaks,Silky is also good,other products (though not used yet are ) - geased lightning from idal world £30 for four products (no water needed),One Dry Wash. I had black streaks on my van, mostly around window area and rail, I was re sealing the awning rails, had to take off windows, found all the rubber window seals were very dirty,I cleaned all the window seals before replacing windows, that was two months, ago and it has rained most days since then, Guess what No Black Streaks any where on van, Before the rubber cleaning, i had black streaks every time it rained. A good cleaning of window seals should help keep black streaks at bay.

Sometimes some of us sometimes just have a run of other more pressing things to do !

I freely admit I often don't clean the house & the car when they need it either - cleaning is a drag & life's too short

Oh dear i did not want to hurt anyone's feelings here,

Shame you have no water,When we went camping once I saw a bloke cleaning his van on site it only took him an hour.

I also think cleaning can be a drag but it has to be done .

You didn't hurt my feelings stocky (I don't know about anyone else mind !) in fact I tend to feel a bit sorry for people who feel compelled to clean !

We do clean it regularly and look after it - after all if nothing else it's £££££ sat out there
The problem is that I cleaned that one patch with something that cleaned it really well and has never got dirty again which means that it makes the rest of it look like that no matter how many times I clean it

There's plenty of water here in Cumbria but shops that sell stuff are a long drive away (at least 25mile each way) and I don't drive I can buy mail order but that's wasted money and postage if it's going to be rubbish - that's a reason I asked if anyone had any recommendations!
