On my 2nd year of the CC, only gripe is no deposit, I personally would like this to be introduced to stop people making booking and not turning up at the last minute i know this will prob stir arguments lol, prime example was on the bury club a couple of weeks ago, mum and father in law booked on, so I tried but fully booked, rang up friday before leaving but no cancellations, found out Sunday that there was a good 10 pitches vacant on both fri & sat nights.

But thats just my opinions.

Empty pitches on supposedly full CC Sites ???
Booking pitches on private sites requires payment of non-refundable deposits. Not turning up or Cancelling at the last minute is infrequent and almost always is due to circumstances beyond the control of the booker.
CC members pay no deposit. There are CC members who repeatedly show their lack of consideration for other caravanners by booking pitches on several different sites for the same dates so that they can pick and choose which one they want to go to at tow time. The CC knows but turns the proverbial blind eye.I have just checked out no less than 12 CC sites and found just one pitch available for 3 consecutive nights.

You cannot book several sites for the same dates as a CC member, it doesn't allow you to.

We jopined the CC with our folding camper and are off to our first CL this week so will let you know our reception!

If you own a FC you will be used to being the only or one of very few other FC owners on site anyway. We were on a reasonably large commercial site last weekend and only one other FC seen

I would imagine like all walks of life there will be some who see their material posessions as better than yours and will point that out whatever club, society group you are a member of!! We chose to buy a FC because we wanted the canvas experience  but with comforts underneath you of a caravan

The CL network is why we tried the CC this first year as not a fan of huge sites/hotels/complexes for any type of holiday

As a t/tent owner who is likely to join the CC later this year, would be interesting to hear how you have got on.

Currently in CC & C, but letting that membership expire - staying at Dornafield for 15 nights this summer, which has a charge of £2 per night for non CC members - £10 extra may as well join the club!

Just back from first trip to a CL and no issues at all. Very nice site owner and couldn't have been more helpful. Couple of friendly other units on site at various points.

Plenty of interest in the camper as many people have not seen many of them and especially can't believe how big they are with awning up as well!

Will be going back to this one as fairly local

This has already been pointed out in a less rude manner.

In a nutshell No!
CC booking system is a farce and nearly all their members are in caravans.
Their CL's are pretty good & so is their European travel service but if you don't use either of those things don't waste your money.
In a folding camper or Trailer tent the Camping & Caravanning Club would better suit your needs.

We were members of the CC with two different folding campers, I can honestly say we were never treated any different to caravan owners, always made to feel very welcome, in fact we used to joke about doing 'guided tours' because you could bet at least once a visit someone would pop round wanting to ask questions about our foldy!!

We have a caravan now, but only because we wanted to use it all year

We only went to one C&CC site and the facilities were very poor and wardens very unfriendly compared to CC sites

Just go to both and see what suits you best........

The 2500 CL's is the reason many join the CC it seems.

A others have said try both and see what you suits you - noone one here can say one or the other
