I know someone who was a bit obsessed and a bit to methodical about making sure that everything was correct that he had a set of tags on elastic bands that were all named. when he made camp he collected them all together from windows, skylights, valves and switches and had to have them all and put them in a safe place in his van. when he was to set off, the last thing he did was to go round checking every thing and putting a tag on it until he had no tags left. then, and only then would he set off.
------------- When you wake up in the morning to the sounds and sights of the campsite, ask yourself one question.....who's nicked my tent?????
Over the last 10 years or so, I estimate that my family and I. Have flagged open Skylights to owners going in the opposite direction to us over 60 times. We live on the Coast, near to a number of touring parks. So regularly pass those heading home.
We always look back to see if the person pulls over, and are sad when we are ignored.
Personally before setting out, I walk around and physically check everything. Then repeat this every time we stop.

I saw at least three on Saturday and that was on a trip of just over 100 miles. Mind you I almost left the fruit bowl on the table top(full of fruit) before setting off having walked past it numerous times whilst packing things away.Just didn't register in the grey matter.

Really hope my missus doesn't see this post!!! Her to a T. Luckily it rains so much up here that you rarely need to open vents!!!
------------- Converting from canvas was the best move ever!
Saw a bloke on the M3 yesterday with a lovely twin axle "jobbie" bowling along with his Heki Rooflite wide open.
Tried to attract his attention about it, but he was clearly following the advice to ignore anyone trying to tell you something about your caravan while going along.
I'd hate to think of the damage that a Heki Rooflite would do to others if it became detached at speed on a motorway not to mention the expense of having to replace one although that consideration is secondary over the safety one.
My wife does all the rooflight checks and securing before we set off and very efficient she is at doing it. It only takes a minute.
