Personally, I prefare to take my own stuff over to the loo with me, and always carry a hand gel mini bottle in my bag or pocket for use after using the toilet or before eating whilst out and about. Its not just door handles in loo blocks that become contaminated by peoples unwashed hands, its also the tops of taps and the leavers of the soap dispensers themselves as people touch them after leaving the toilet whilst their hands are still unclean, likewise with the toilet rolls unless they are of the 'one sheet at a time' dispensing canisters such as found in some motorway service station loos. I certainly wouldnt use a loo roll that had been lurking on the back of the toilet cystern, or worse still on the cubicle floor as i have come across in some sites toilets.

If we need loo roll we always carry the small compact Andrex packs which are ideal for the job, and easy enough to keep in your pocket or bag.

I know this might sound ridiculous, but it really is true, when I was in Paris way back in the 1960s my friend and I had to use a public toilet in the city and in each cubicle there was a hole in the ground with 2 places for your feet and a pile of leaves for your backside

Like you we tend to take some loo roll with us on way to the loos just in case,  we also use the hand gel stuff (or wipes) but that's not the point really imo !

As regards people nicking stuff well yes some do but they are far & away in the minority & as said in several previous posts there are plenty ways site owners can get around that problem - it's not rocket science - just penny pinching ! 

It's not good enough I'm afraid, if people have such an aversion to providing suitable neccessities they shouldn't go into the business in the 1st place.

My answer is why should I have cra* in my own loo which I have to empty when I'm paying to use the site facilities ?  

At any rate we don't spend all day & night sitting in the 'van - sometimes the onsite loos are nearer !

I'd definitely leave a comment in your review, just reading your post makes me feel sick & reminds me why I never use loo blocks, the thought of someone else's wee or poo on my hand????!!!!!!!  

Back in the 60's i can remember one of the big brewery chains going mad on installing all kinds of vending machines into its pub toilets, in addition to the usual ones you find today, you could buy a Toilet pack for 6d, complete with a leaf of Pears soap which was impregnated onto thick paper, a large paper towel to dry your hands, and a few sheets of folded Izal type loo roll.

Then if you left a pong, for an extra 6d out of another machine, you could buy a squirt of several top brands of perfume to freshen you and your surroundings up!  

As goes for bar soap, its amazing how many bacteria live and breed on the bar itself between washes, hence its never used on hospital wards or doctors surgeries unless the patients bring their own.
