Phil - have you ever considered writing a journal about your trials and tribulations - the first post had me wanting to read it right until the end.....a certain amount of humour and Victor Meldrew, I found it so funny (apologies that it was not so funny for you at the time), I could just imagine being there.....if you published 'The Journies of Phil The Caravanner' I'd definately buy it....I may even queue up and get a signed copy :-)

We love Wharfedale too, we went earlier this year and have booked again for next year. We go a bit further up the dale than you to a more basic site. We got a bit bogged down this year being a grass pitch but it was OK,it got sorted and was just more of the "fun of caravanning." The views and the walking straight from the site are second to none, I think we moved the car twice in 9 days. We did catch the tail end of hurricane Katia and tried not to be scared as the awning bent backwards and the caravan rocked but the next day was perfect and we were able to do a higher level walk over to Arncliffe - beer and butties at the Falcon - doesn't get any better!
Hawkswick Cote, Kettlewell or somewhere deep in Litton Dale?
Litton Dale is possibly one of the undiscovered part of the Dales...despite having Pen Y Ghent at the head. Most folk head to Pen Y Ghent from Ingleborough or just skirt by Litton Dale when walking the Pennine Way. An area worth exploration

Kettlewell! Litton Dale is fantastic, we walked to the Red Lion (are you seeing a pattern here?)- a great dog-friendly pub. They have photos on the walls of famous customers - including - I kid you not - JLS. One of your faves, I'll bet! The landlord took a photo of our dogs sitting on his dog's bed, apparently other dogs don't do this an he was surprised that our cheeky pair did. He said he'd put them up on the photo wall! Today the Red Lion, tomorrow.....X FACTOR!
