Bailey Indiana 2006

New caravan door,  warping so water coming in.

New back panel, slight crack. due to manufacture fault, so we were told.

New water pump - too noisy.

Other than that a few things just down to wear and tear and I wouldn't add them to this list.

New front window - in common with many 2009 vans of all makes. A replacement washroom tap - a tiny leak detected where the tap joins the sink. Work done under warranty.

we have a avondale winsor and had trouble with hot water coming out of the cold tap for a few seconds and then turning cold. local dealer wanted £50+ to fix it with a lot of nonesence explanations as to the problem, declined his offer and decided to have a go at it myself. this was rectified by putting a none return valve between the pump and hot water tank at a total cost of £7 and one hour of my time. anybody got the same problem i can send them a diagram of the fitting i made up

Have you got all night to read my reply?? Dont think theres such a thing as a Friday van with Bailey! If ther were a car manfuacturer they would have gone bust by now!!

Had 4 sets of blinds replaced as theyv all gained holes in letting daylight through.

Front window leaking on first outing, van is over a year old and its still not been fixed, water leaks in during rain!

Every single door handle been reaplced as they all collapsed inside.

3rd microwave as theyve all packed in!

Bathroom door wouldnt close on first outing, had it sorted and now the handle keeps falling off as the screws are all striped inside.

Pullout table at the front doesnt slide out and sticks when out

Bed slats keep falling off! (I know what your all thinking??)

Bathroom freezing cold and heated rail doesnt seem to have any affect on warming it up.

Heiki roof blind and kitchen vent roofblind also been replaced due to holes appearing after a very short while.

Faulty battery door had a new one replaced.

Apart from that everythings hunky dorey actually losing the will to caravan as every time we go out in it something else goes wrong and its really annoying us to the point where we are thinking of selling it and giving it all up. Its our 3rd Bailey and probably our last! Had alot of problems with series 6 van but series 5 was fine. Weve changed our towcar now so we will have more options when we come to change. I think there are all the same from what iv read on the forums. Things I love about the van:-

Alde heating - its fab couldnt go back to blown air its not a patch!

Interior is really nice and lots of kitchen space.

Tall fridge freezer, came in very handy in France, freezer fantastic.

I think whatever new van you buy you have to expect problems with it, espeically when you start towing it alot, please bear in mind we use our van alot more than the average user, we are out every other weekend and use it all year for Winter caravanning, new year etc, we dont put it away for Winter. We bought the Bailey coz of the warranty and they are very good and replacing things, its just a pain keep taking it to the dealers, espeically now Discovers gone coz thats where we bought it from.

We will be going to the show in Jan to have a look around.

Well im amazed at some of the problems people are having with new vans cheryl.mark my heart goes out to you please don't give up i am sure you will get there in the end, OK ours is a swift corniche 2 berth 1996, we had water coming in through the bathroom skylight so hubby bought some sealer and re sealed it but the water was still dripping in and we were at a loss, the van is on the drive at home i went into the front bedroom and viewed the van roof i noticed the TV Ariel had been removed and spotted a small hole were it had been sealed, i hurried downstairs and into the van opened the wardrobe door and bingo it was wet, Hubby quickly sealed the hole and now it's bone dry . .
