I've been out in 70 mph gales with a Volvo V70 pulling a light Swift Corvette. Never had a problem towing. Only problem is wife imagining the caravan will blow over at night when we are lying in it. Daft woman. I'd like to see the wind that would blow over a caravan, especially with me and my crates of beer in it!
(and her in it) shhhhh.

It doesn't matter what size your tow vehicle is, it won't stop a sudden gust from blowing the caravan over.

I wouldn't laugh at her either, it's a rare thing but vans have been known to go over!!! If it's to windy we don't go, there are a lot of folk who say I'll drive in any weather, good luck to them, their choice, personally Im not prepared to take that risk, rather loose a day than my families safety or lives.

Not always a choice of course. If it's your job, you go and do it. If it's not your job you should only do what you're comfortable with.
Personally, I've had to go out in all weathers, so I don't even think about it now. It's certainly very windy today, and it makes the journey more work than pleasure.
I can remember many occasions when I would have preferred to stay at home, and I'm sure that applies to lots of truck and coach drivers today, not to mention those who tow other people's trailers for a living.
If you are fortunate enough to have a choice, as I say, do what you're comfortable with.

needn't have worried really. Apart from the Humber Bridge being closed on the way back so I chose the long ray round; it was fine.
Obviously the van rocked a bit over night on Saturday; but towing was fine. The Sorento really does boss the van mind; never felt the van was in charge at any point.

had one scary moment on the A1m this afternoon near Donny , a huge gust caught the van and that was the closest ive come to losing an outfit.it wasnt even an open area , it was through a cutting with trees at the side , i was doing below 50mph at the time , certainly a brown trouser moment.
was hoping to leave travelling home until later on when winds died down but had to be off site by 1pm. didnt seem too bad until that 1 freak gust.
