We don't find any difficulies with storage. We just put everything in the Jeep, pick up the caravan, and put everything in when we arrive on site.
That's no inconvenience, when you consider the peace of mind we now have. Why ask for trouble? That's what the police said to us. We had never thought about it really, but when we weighed up the options, there really was only one answer.
The only plus points when keeping the van at home are loading direct from the house, and cooling the fridge. The first doesn't save anything, and we keep a 12 volt fridge in the car, so the cold stuff travels in that. When we arrive, we plug the fridge in, and while it goes cold, everything else gets done, then transfer the food to the van.
There's nothing extra to do so, for me, there is no problem at all. The van is in a compound with someone in the opffice watching the alarmed gate night and day. It's a great feeling.
Also, I hadn't realised until we moved the van, just what a great lump it was, cluttering up the drive. Now we use it when we want it and it's locked away when we don't. I would never go back to having it at the house.
