Went to Camping & General Canvey Island at lunchtime to look at the Kampa Fiesta. Unfortunately the edges against the caravan were too wide so it wouldn't fit between the open door & window.
While there saw a Outdoor Revolution Compactlite 250 for £145. That was too good a deal to miss so I got one of those. I'll post some pics next month when we go to Conkers.

Shame about the Fiesta, but I really hope the OR Compactalite works for you. Have you been to Conkers before? We go every May Day BH Weekend and always have a good time. Only just up the road from us.

We're going up to Ferry Meadows. Shame - if I were about I would have popped up to meet you. Never mind - another time perhaps.

Hi Zafiral, I have a Suncamp ultima 390, Bought just before christmas on ebay, ex stock. I think i paid about £110. used over christmas Chew Valley. It stood up to severe winds & lashing rain. i also have a Caravanstore Zip & a Dorema full awning. Prefer the Suncamp to both of these. If it only lasts 2 or 3 years you cant go wrong for the price.

That is a shame, maybe in October as you are down our neck of the woods - we might go to Daleacres if you are talking about half term.

Our previous porch awning, a Sunncamp Scenic lasted 5 years with some pretty bad weather conditions so if I can get similar from my new porch awning I will be more than happy.

I wished I was, Murano! I always worry that anyone buying an awning (or anthing else) on recommendation, just might be disappointed. I hope you get on with the Fiesta - I would feel so awful if you (or anyone else) didn't like it. Please give some feedback when you've had chance to try it.

David we put it up at home for a little test run, seems really great :) going away next weekend, so will give it a good test out, but I like what I see , like the airy feeling to it, but it seems really strong too, let you know how we get on.

That's excellent. If it's any help, the thing we like the least are the blinds. In fact we never use them. We leave ours perminently rolled down and even pack the awning away with the blinds rolled down. I'm thinking I might cut them off!! Will be very interested to see how you get on. Have a good time at the weekend - I'll look out to see how you got on next week?

We're booked in at Black Horse Farm for most of the Half Term week. The only thing likely to stop us is that I'm awaiting a knee replacement - I've already said not before September, and I'm just too busy at the run up to Christmas. The knee might even be next January yet. Time will tell - I find the NHS very good, but you know what their timing is like.

If you are down that way for either of the weekends we may get something booked nearer the time.

we had one of the riversway leisure awning like in the photo on previous page, the side poll bent badly in fairly mild wind, give riversway leisure their due, they arranged collection and gave option of same again or a different type, we chose a OR compactlite 325, much more secure.

That sounds good to know. I bought the extra roof pole, but I didn't get the back poles as they appear to be more for asthetic reason rather than support.

We went away to Abbey Wood this weekend so the OR Compactlite Pro got its first outing.
The awning is a good size & it misses all the windows when in place. It was too cold to sit out so I can't comment on table & chair space yet, but it was straight forward to erect, but it will be easier with 2 people.
For the £145 Camping & General are selling it for, it is a bargain.

glad you got in with it, the only reason we bought the back poles is that it gives a better seal to the van esp in wind, the roof pole certainly helps keep the roof from pooling water

Ours gave a reasonable seal to the van once I had worked out that you have to peg the D ring down under the van. I was surprised as any other awning I have used you peg rubbers rather than a rigid plastic D ring. I am just surprised as I feel it may break with extended use.
