Yes, that is the correct web address, I follow his blog every day. He and his partner have been living full time in their caravan for well over twelve months now - get in touch with him, I'm sure he'll be happy to help with any advice and suggestions. I think the only bugbear about that is having to move sites every twenty eight days but if you can find two or three in close proximity to each other you shouldn't have too much problem.

Sorry to hear of your situation (been there and got the t-shirt, as maybe others on here have) so I really do sympathise and I hope you manage to sort things out

my advice do not buy a static unless you can afford the stupid rates each year £1500-£3500 i have been quoted in past.

Whatever you buy you will be at times at the mercy of the cold British weather, and a 'Winterised' caravan will be a must during these times.

Also before buying, check the caravan out properly for any signs of dampness (using a test meter) and for any springy areas in the floor, that can be a sign of delamination between the wooden ply and the insulation layers.

Winterised caravans will have better levels of insulation, along with features such as inboard water tanks (less problems of freezing if inside a heated caravan), and more substantial heating, although the latter can be overcome by the addition of extra plug in convector type heaters as long as you are connected to a 16amp electric hook up supply.

A couple of sites I have stayed on have what they called 28 day pitches. This seemed to be where the caravans stayed permanently on the pitch but you have to leave the site for 2 days a month.Might be worth actually asking at any site you are interested in as I don't think they advertise this practice.

Sorry to hear of the situation your in.  Best you find out now though as further down the line would only have been worse.  Just throwing this into the mix - if you are thinking of touring and seeing lots of our beautiful country why not sell your car and buy a motor home / campervan instead.  You'd save on site fees as there are lots of places you can stay free.  I've been away with my Dad for the last 3 years for a week at a time and we just fill up with water at a petrol station when we need it - you could always book into a site for a day or so here and there to use facilities eg batteries etc. Best of luck whatever you do.

You will of course need a perminent address for official mail to go to, some things like passports and driving licences, car insurance and bank details need a fixed abode for them to be legal.
